Our Services
Nipisihkopahk Iyinisiwin Trust Fund (NITF) helps SCN members with support education services such as monthly attendance incentives, completion grants and more! It is NITF goal to offer additional services to SCN members so they can be successful in their educational endeavors.
Post Secondary/Technical & Trades Programs/Scholarships/Certification Programs
Samson Cree Nation students who are enrolled and are attending postsecondary educational institutions such as a university, college or technical school can be eligible to receive a $80.00 attendance incentive per class up to a maximum of five classes.
Deadline to apply:
June 15th for September Start Date (Fall)
November 15th for a January Start Date (Winter)
March 15th for a May Start Date (Spring)
May 15th for a July Start Date (Summer)
Due to budget restraints, the NITF has limited the number of students to be funded as per budget allotment. It is therefore understood that there is a possibility that not all students applying will receive a monthly incentive. Don’t miss the deadline!
Adult Upgrading & Adult High School Application for Incentive Program
Qualifying Samson Cree Nation Members attending an “adult education program” or equivalent as recognized by Alberta Education in order to obtain or upgrade their High School diploma or GED may apply for an adult upgrading monthly incentive from the Samson Education Trust Fund.
Deadline to apply:
June 15th for September Start Date (Fall)
November 15th for a January Start Date (Winter)
March 15th for a May Start Date (Spring)
May 15th for a July Start Date (Summer)

Grade 12 Grad Assistance
Grade twelve SCN students can be eligible to receive graduation assistance for the high school diploma convocation ceremonies. A maximum of $250.00 can be used towards gown rentals, graduation attire.
Application Deadline: 1 week before graduation ceremony.
Student Benefits Program
SCN students grade 12 and under who are travelling as part of a school excursion may be eligible to receive assistance! Examples are school travel clubs, school field trips. Exceptions do apply, please visit page 7 of the Student Handbook.

After School Tutoring Program
The NITF Board recognizes the need for supplementary instructions for students to better understand their academics. These courses must be either: core, fundamental learning, or pre-requisites to their academic plan.
It must be ensured that any tutor under this program is professionally qualified or is a current high school or Post Secondary student who has demonstrated the qualities of astering the course information which the student needs. See page 7 of the student handbook for more information.

Achievement Awards
Grade 9 Achievement Award: Samson Cree Nation Members who have successfully completed grade nine are eligible to receive a completion award.
Deadline to apply: 1 year after graduation or convocation
Grade 10 Achievement Award: Samson Cree Nation Members who have successfully completed grade twelve are eligible to receive a completion award.
Deadline to apply: 1 year after graduation or convocation
Grade 11 Achievement Award: Samson Cree Nation Members who have successfully completed grade twelve are eligible to receive a completion award.
Deadline to apply: 1 year after graduation or convocation

Technical School
Journeyman: 2nd Year $1000, 3rd Year $1500, 4th Year $2,000
Master’s: 2nd & 3rd Year $1,000, 4th Year $2,000
Technical School Award – (4-8 months) Certificate Program of study leading to a diploma or certificate in a certified field of study. $250
